Old favourite, has been on here before. Right outside the door from where I lived for a while. Upper Upper West Side (pretty much Harlem), New York City. A New York City currently recovering from The Big Storm (Sandy), a taste of what to come. Is NYC doomed?

Gammal favorit, har visats här förut. Precis utanför dörren till lyan jag hyrde in mig i på Upper Upper west Side (mer eller mindre Harlem). New York City. Ett New York som just nu återhämtar sig från “Den Stora Stormen” (Sandy). En försmak av vad som väntar. Är NYC dömt att gå under?

Dead Can Be Beautiful

I don’t know what kind of tree this used to be but it sure looks wonderful in the afterlife. Trees that die does become hosts to new life just as anything else that dies. The circle of life. Some trees does this better than other, keeps standing for years and years as the bark peels off and reveals the pale wood underneath. Branches becomes claws trying to catch the clouds. Enough talking. Now just enjoy.

Jag vet inte vad för slags träd det brukade vara, men det fantastiskt i livet efter detta. Träd som dör blir värdar till nytt liv precis som allt annat som dör. Livets cirkel sluts. Vissa träd gör detta bättre än andra, fortsätter att stå åratal medan barken faller av och visar det bleknande trät under. Grenar blir klor som försöker fånga molnen. Nog pratat. Håll till godo.

We remember…

Summer. It’s September and now summer is officially over for this year. And it wasn’t much of a summer this year. A few warm days but mostly cold and wet. Scientists have found a shift in the Gulf Stream. Climate change. Guess summers as we knew they are just a memory due to coal- and oil-burning. It’s your fault, and mine. The only way to stop this is to change how we live. Are you ready or would you rather let the Earth succumb than change how your lifestyle?

Sommar. Nu är den officiellt över för i år. Och det var inte mycket till sommar. Några få varma dagar men annars mest kallt och fuktigt. Forskare har funnit att Golfströmmen försvagats på grund av människans klimatpåverkan. Sommar som vi minns den är ett minne blott, det kommer bara bli värre på grund av olje- och-kolförbränning. Ditt fel, och mitt. Det enda sättet att stoppa utvecklingen är att ändra livsstil. Är du redo eller låter du hellre jorden förgås?

The thing of the day was portraits of… cars! Replicas of Lotus Super Seven cars, home-brewed in people garages. All flava’s and colors, engines and solotions. From road adapted sport-cars to full-blood racers with sticky slick tires, ful roll-cages and free-breathing and fire-spitting engines. Some use live rear axles, other wishbone solustions, while other go for deDion. Some use Ford Pinto’s while others use bike-engines and other further Saab or Volvo turbo-charged cast-iron lumps. Who was fastest? And what technical solutions ruled? I’ll tell you later…

A Day At The Circuit…

My second passion following photography (oh yeah, apart from sex, wine, friends…) is cars and racing. So I decided to do something to combine the two…
